- September 2008 Route Changes On September 2, 2008,
there will be some significant changes to the SETD routes.
- The new 101 Express route will run from Seaside to the Clatsop
College, no transfer necessary.
- Routes 10 west and 15 will be combined into the new route
15.
- Routes 20 and 21 will be combined into the new route 20.
Service in Seaside will be significantly expanded.
- Route 10 east will have some time/stop adjustments. The route
will be renamed route 10.
Fares will change as follows:
- All city routes (10, 15 & 20) will be $0.75 one way.
- The route 101 express will be $3.00 one way.
- We will still have discounted tickets and passes.

- Fort To The Sea Route
The summer Fort Clatsop to the Sea Route has
started. The route will run on Saturdays and Sundays until June 22, 2008 and
seven (7) days a-week from June 23 thorough Labor Day. This year the route will
be from Fort Clatsop to the Sunset Beach Trail Head only. Click here to see the

The previously cancelled Board of Directors

Center, 900 Marine in Astoria.

The Westport Shuttle route start times has been
changed from 9:00 am and 3:00 pm to 8:45 am and 2:45 pm to make it easier for
the driver/passengers to make the connection at Westport with the Columbia
County Rider bus.

- Route 21 to
Manzanita
Beginning September 10, 2007, "The Bus" and
Tillamock County Transportation District, "TCTD" will be crossing paths to make
rides available between Cannon Beach and Manzanita, Monday through Saturday.
"The Bus" will be making one trip a day from the Maher street stop at 10:17 am
to Manzanita. TCTD will make two trips from Manzanita to Cannon Beach, arriving
at the Tolovana Wayside at 9:30 am and 2:53 pm.
- Oregon Coachways
Schedules(08/15/07)
The Oregon Coachways schedule has been revised.
The starting time from the Astoria Transit Center has been moved 30 minutes
later to 8:15 am. The following stops have also been moved 30 minutes
later.

Sunset Empire Transportation District would
like to Congratulate Jerred Engebretson for being chosen as employee of the
third quarter for 2007. Nice job! Jerred has been with SETD for one year. He is
the Assistant Mechanic/Lot Attendant. He has learned a lot in his short time
here. He has shown a great deal of responsibility when learning something new.
He is liked by all the drivers and staff. Jerred is very dependable and
punctual. Thanks again for all that your hard work and dedication that you give
to SETD. The passengers and SETD appreciate the clean buses.

- Fort Clatsop Summer Routes
The Fort Clatsop Summer Route
is tentatively scheduled to start on Memorial day weekend May 26, 27 & 28.
The route will run weekends only until June 17, 2007. Starting June 18, 2007
until September 3, 2007 (labor Day weekend) the route will run seven
days-a-week. After September 3, 2007 through September 23, 2007, the route will
return to weekends only.
- Netul Landing Schedule
The Netul Landing buses will be tentatively
running from July 1, 2007 through August 19, 2007 seven days-a-week.

The Sunset Empire Transportation District is
now a ticket seller for the Oregon Coachways bus from Astoria to Portland. The
bus runs 7 days a week, Astoria to Portland in the AM and back in the PM. The

- Effective Immediately
Route 101 will not stop at the Fort to the Sea
trailhead until approximately Memorial day. More information will be
forthcoming.
- Bus Fares Effective January 2, 2007
Effective January 2, 2007, the bus fares system
will be completely revised. Riders will be required to give the driver a fare
or a ticket every time they get on a bus. Passes must be presented to the

- Oregon Coachways/Amtrak Bus Schedule
As a customer service Sunset Empire is
including the schedule for the Oregon Coachways/Amtrak bus service between
Astoria and Portland. The information on this page is accurate according to the
information that is currently available. Verify all information contained with
Oregon Coachway/Amtrak at 1-800-872-7245 before making any time dependent
plans.
- September 4, 2006, Labor Day.
Regular fixed route service will not be
running. The Astoria Transit Center will also be closed . The Park Shuttle will
be running on Labor Day. Park Shuttle service will be discontinued effective
September 5, 2006.
- Netul Landing Shuttles
Effective August 28 the Netul Landing buses
will stop running. The parking lot will be opened at Fort Clatsop.
- Park Shuttle Schedule
Effective June 12 through September 4, 2006 a
new national park schedule will be in effect. This route will run through Fort
Stevens, Fort Clatsop and the trail head at Sunset Beach. The schedule will run
between 9:45 am and 4:45 pm Monday through Saturday.
- Senior Citizen Discounts
Effective July 1, 2006, Riders are eligible for
a senior citizens discount at 65 years of age instead of the current 55
years of age.
- Dial-A-Ride Fare Increases Effective July 1, 2006,
"The Bus" will increase all Dial-A-Ride fare

2nd 2006, Route 20 (Gearhart, Seaside & Cannon Beach ) will run
7 days a week. The Route 20 schedule will return to 6 days a week following
Spring Break week

Routes 101, 20 and 21 will changed. Routes 10

The route will now run from Fred Meyer to Cottage & Pacific in
Gearhart.
Route 20. The route will run between Pacific and Cottage in
Gearhart and the Cannon Beach Visitors Center. The will again include the
Seaside Hospital stop.
Route 21. Route 21 will now stay in Cannon Beach as
before.

Seaside
- The "Bus" will stop at Broadway & Holladay and 101 & 12

Route 101 Express - Route
stops at Cannes Theater. Connections with route 21 will be made
there.
- Lewis and Clark Astor Route
The Lewis and Clark Astor Route will run as
long as the Lewis and Clark Explorer Train runs (October 3, 2005),
Friday through Monday Only!
- Sunday Schedules
During the Summer month (06/05 - 09/05) , the
following routes will be available on Sundays.
The Astor route from
Astoria to/from Fort Clatsop.
The Clatsop route from
Warrenton-Hammond to/from Fort Clatsop.
The Route 101 Express from
Fred Meyer to/from Gearhart, Seaside and Cannon Beach. The Route 101 Express
bus will be running every other hour beginning at 7:15
am.

- Lewis and Clark Explorer Train
The Lewis and Clark Explorer Train will begin
running Friday through Monday trips between June 3, 2005 and October 3, 2005.

Effective June 13th through Labor
Day weekend (September 5, 2005) the summer schedules will be in effect.
- Effective May 2, 2005
Route 10 West will return to the Hanover and
Marine stop. Street work is now done. We are sorry about any inconvenience that
this rerouting has caused.
- Effective March 15, 2005, Until Further Notice
Because of the construction going on in the
Hanover/Nehalem area, "The Bus" will not be going up Hanover or on Nehalem.
"The Bus" will be picking passengers along Marine Drive and turning left on
7th Street. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may
cause.
- Changes to Routes 10 and 15
The route 10 and 15 schedules changes mentioned
below will now be run Monday through Saturday beginning on Monday, January 31,
2005
- Changes to Routes 10 and 15
Route 10 Changes: Route 10
will operate separate East and West Buses from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The 3:00
P.M. West Bus will stop at Fred Meyers and not return to the Transit Center. At
3:54, the route 10 bus that leaves the Transit Center will run both the East
and West Routes until closing.
Route 15 Changes: The
Route 15 time schedule has been slightly modified. The bus will not be going to
the college between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Service to the college will be
provided by the route 10 buses during these hours.
- Canned Food Drive
Until the end of December, you can contribute a
canned food item and ride the bus for free! One can gets a ride on one route
i.e.. Astoria to Fred Meyer on Route 15. Trips on multiple routes requires
multiple cans. To ride from Astoria (route 15) to Seaside (route 101) would
require two cans. There are no transfers available when using a canned food for
payment. Remember, only canned foods, no boxed , wrapped, government issued, or
homemade items will be accepted.
- Special Highway 101 Sunday Route
Through Dec 19, Sunset Transit will have a
special Sunday Hwy 101 route. Click on the link above to read the new

- Hwy 101 Express Route
The Hwy 101 Express Route now runs through
downtown Warrenton.
Going South The bus will leave
Fred Meyers, travel west on Harbor St. (Warrenton-Astoria Hwy) to Main street
in Warrenton. Left on Main St. past Warrenton High School, entering Hwy 101 at
the Fort Stevens Hwy exit.
Going North The bus will
leave Hwy 101 at the Fort Stevens Hwy exit, continuing north-east on Main St.,
past the High School to Harbor St., right on Harbor street to Neptune St.,
right on Neptune St., stopping at Fred Meyers.
