Overview

The Sunset Empire Transportation District ("The District") was formed by the Clatsop County, Oregon Board of Commissioners on March 24, 1993. The District has been providing transportation in Clatsop County ever since and is located in the northwestern corner of Oregon State along the coast. The District encompasses the entire County of Clatsop County covering approximately 840 square miles and serving over 36,000 citizens.

Fixed Route Ridership currently averages over 3,000 rides per week. SETD uses bio-diesel in most of its equipment, offers recycling at its downtown transit center and encourages people to be good stewards of their environment by riding the bus.

The Sunset Empire Transportation District (SETD) provides fixed route and paratransit services throughout selected areas of Clatsop County and connecting to Tillamook County to the south, Pacific County (Washington) to the north and Columbia County to the east. All services are open to the general public. Routes operate within and connect between the five incorporated cities (Astoria, Warrenton, Gearhart, Seaside and Cannon Beach) and service along the Highway 101 and Highway 30 corridors. Fixed route services operate Monday thru Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 7:55 p.m. Fares range from $1.00 to $4.00. Fixed route services are not operated on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Complimentary paratransit services are offered to ADA eligible passengers.

SETD also operates the Northwest Ride Center Medicaid Brokerage. The brokerage is responsible for scheduling rides for Medicaid eligible clients to eligible appointments in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties. Hours of operations are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
