| Motion by Commissioner Kee, seconded by Commissioner Goforth to accept the March 22, 2005 minutes. Vice-chair Gannaway, Commissioners Kee, Goforth Fenske and Shannon voted yes. Motion passed. | ||

| Ms. Fenske had a Coast Guardsmen ask her about pick-up locations and times close to the Astoria High School. He wanted his daughter to be able to do after school activities. Ms. Howe said that we do have pickup locations close to the High School. As far as after school activities and being able to get the student home they will have to go by the fixed route schedule and times. | ||

| Mr. Shannon reported on the transportation around the world and talked a bit about how public transportation is doing very well and growing. | ||
| MARCH 2005 FINANCIAL REPORT | ||
| Motion by Commissioner Shannon, seconded by Vice-Chair Fenske to approve the financial report as submitted. Vice-chair Gannaway, Commissioners Fenske, Shannon, Goforth and Kee voted yes. Motion passed. | ||
| CORRESPONDENCE: None | ||
| Commissioner Shannon asked about transportation across the river and to and from Portland. Ms. Howe talked about the proposed grant that is pending on this. We will not hear anything the grant until August, Ms. Howe will continue to update the board on the status of the grant. | ||
| Commissioner Shannon will be accepting the award that the Astoria Intermodal Transit Center was award for their contribution to Downtown Astoria's revitalization. The award will be presented to the Astoria Downtown Historical Association and Sunset Empire at an award ceremony on May 5th in Portland. | ||

| a. | Discussion of policy for placing informational flyers on buses | |
| There was a complaint this past month from a passenger who considered one of the flyers that was placed on the buses to be a religious document. After receiving this complaint Chair Harris asked that the board discuss this issue and give staff direction on policy. Ms. Howe said that at this point there is not a written policy and that other transportation agencies allow Public Service Announcements (PSA) to be hung on the buses. Commissioner Shannon said that we need to screen what goes on the buses or we could have some legal issues. After further discussion, Ms. Howe was directed to draft a policy for the board to review at the next meeting. | ||
| Ms. Howe talked to the board about the new transit center employee Eric Barton and also discussed new extended summer hours that the transit will be operating., | ||
